Henk-Jan has long been fascinated by the dynamics of financial markets and the influence of psychology on the behaviour of financial practitioners. Since joining ECR Research in 2011, his expertise as a chart-technical analyst has complemented the fundamental research methodologies employed by our team, striking a crucial balance. He primarily authors the 'Technical Trend Outlook' report, showcasing his ability to translate intricate market dynamics into actionable insights.

In 2002, Henk-Jan graduated with a degree in Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and specialised in Financial Markets and Investments. His pursuit of knowledge extended internationally, studying Financial Economics at both Hofstra University in New York and Uppsala University. He went on, in 2004, to work as a trader for an internationally recognized hedge fund, before establishing his own successful business trading derivatives. He developed a strong reputation for high potential trading /investment strategies based on behavioural, technical and quantitative tools. In 2019, he successfully completed the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) Program - the preeminent, global designation for practitioners of technical analysis.
